The cemetery is located at the south west of the village. From No.16 Chkalov Street drive southwest for 130m, then turn right and drive along the dirt road for 255m. Turn right and then drive for 300m, the cemetery will be on the left, marked by a hump 80m from the path.

General site condition
The cemetery is covered with dense seasonal vegetation. According to locals, the gravestones were dismantled for construction use. Five gravestones have survived, one of them with inscriptions in Hebrew.

Historical overview

The exact period of the cemetery’s establishment is unknown. Given that the oldest preserved tombstone dates to the mid 19th century, it can be gathered the cemetery was founded in that era. It cannot be found marked on old maps of the region.

Verkhniy Rohachyk (Ukr. Верхній Рогачик, Rus. Верхний Рогачик) had a Jewish population of 629 in 1910. The Jewish community maintained a prayer house and a cemetery. According to the 2001 census, there were no Jews in Verkhniy Rohachyk and the neighbouring areas.

It is not known when the cemetery was founded. The only identifiable date on a gravestone is 1866. According to local residents, most of the gravestones were used for construction.
