Historical overview

First, the Jewish cemetery in Krasnostav was marked on Russian topographic map of the 1880s. Presumably, it was established in the mid-19th century, so far as the oldest preserved gravestone relates to the 1840s. Later, the cemetery appears on another Russian map and a Polish map of 1939.
